Chocolate Making Recount

Chocolate Making Recount
Wow, when Miss Paton said we were going to make Chocolates I was so happy. Miss Paton started to pick groups and my group was Toakase, Athena and Rhianne. We had to get four tables but they had to be the same size. She put a pot on each table and she came to our groups and said “What chocolate do you want? We had the option of having dark chocolate, milk chocolate, and white chocolate. We also had the option of getting mixed chocolate and we all did. We got white chocolate, milk chocolate, and some dark chocolate. These are the steps to make chocolate.

  • First, we had a pot and we waited for Miss Paton to fill the pot with hot water.
  • We put a plate over the pot
  • Then we put chocolate on the plate but it was of our choice
  • We got a spoon and waited for it to melt and we also stirred it.
  • When it was melted we put the tray close to the pot. We got the spoon and some chocolate. We poured it into the moulds and we were allowed to go to other people’s tables and pour in white chocolate, dark chocolate, and milk chocolate.
  • (Optional) Most groups chose the marbling effect. We got chocolate and drizzled onto the chocolate.

Then Miss Paton went to put the chocolates in the fridge. On Monday we had to wrap the chocolates up. I am looking forward to giving them as a Christmas gift. Next, we put them in mini plastic bags and put them into a container and Miss Paton takes them home.

It was Fun Making chocolates I hope to make other tasting food next time.

My Tapa Cloth

This Term I have been learning about Tapa Cloth. This is the art I made. We had to make sure it followed lines of symmetry. My Tapa Coth shows reflection and rotation.

Camp Recount Updated

Time with Friends
I can’t believe it's finally here. Camp! YAY. When I got out of the car, I just realized that I am not going to hear a baby crying when I sleep. I was so excited when I put my luggage in the hall, after that I and my friends were just talking then all of a sudden we had an assembly about camp and behavior. They just said that if you have anything that's not supposed to be in your bag take it out and give it to me. Then she did the roll to see if everyone was here. Everyone was here but a few people were not going to camp. “Oh MY GOSH, “I said when the bus arrived. So when the bus arrived we had to take our things out of the hall and wait in a straight line when they called our names then we got to the bus and put our luggage on the bus and say goodbye to our families and give them huge hugs and kisses. Then we all hopped onto the bus and then waved goodbye to our close family and friends and we went off.

“Whoo we are at camp,” I said when we got off. Lesina was getting a bit sick so we tried to help as much as we could. We took our luggage and held it until we were in the building. St Therese also came to. After that, we had to but all of our stuff in the corner of the bottom floor. Mind you the building was huge! There was a bell that you could ring on the balcony. We had another assembly and this time it was about our cabinet groups and our activity groups. My Activity group was Zairah, Huia, Daniel, Athena, Betty, Jireh, Patrick, Rhianne, and Anna I think. I loved My cabinet group it was Ephesians, Reyna, Salote, Stella, Zariah and of course me. After the assembly, we took our things and went into our cabinets. We also had to make our beds. We had bunk beds and I was at the very top. I was sleeping next to Ephesians and Salote was sleeping next to Reyna and Zariah was sleeping next to Stella. We all went into each other’s cabinet to see what they looked like and Lesinas cabinet group was the biggest. Next, I think we had free time but Lesina was sick and she stayed in bed and then we decided to cheek on her with her cousin, her cousin was so funny. We weren’t allowed to go to the kitchen with-out proper shoes and there were some restricted areas that we weren’t allowed in. “ DING DONG DING DONG,” they said it's time for lunch. I was excited to see what they were serving. When we had to go in we had to take our shoes off and grab a knife fork and a spoon. Then we had to sit in our seats then Mrs. Koupa chose tables for people to get their food and that day we ate lasagna and veggies, you could also grab sconed servings if you were still hungry. Next, we did some activities, the activities I did were kayaking and the go-karts. The kayaking was fun, some people fell off the kayak and they had to do 100 push-ups because Mrs. Koupa said so. After that we did go-karts and I fell off the go-karts but overall it was fun then we were allowed to take a shower but only for three minutes. I was a little bit sad because I like taking long showers. Then we were called over for dinner and this time we had potatoes with chicken and veggies. It was good. I loved the potatoes.

A Few hours later Mrs. Koupa decided to do a bush walk, we walked all the way to the top of the hill then we came back and had to brush our teeth, wash our face things like that. We had to put on our Pj’s and hope into our bed and had to pray and then go to sleep. We also said goodnight to everyone.

I loved that day I wish the day didn’t have to end!
